About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a IT Systems Engineer within our Newcastle office. As an IT Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and optimizing our ICT systems and networks. You will contribute to the smooth operation of our infrastructure, ensuring seamless communication and productivity for all users. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you'll implement new technologies, solve complex problems, and enhance system efficiency and security.

Candidate Profile:

- Administer and maintain Windows Server, Hyper-V, and on-premises Active Directory environments.
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure with proficiency in Microsoft Entra, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
Leverage PowerShell scripting to streamline processes and enhance system functionality.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Exchange via PowerShell and EAC.
- Maintain endpoint management using tools such as Microsoft Intune.
- Ensure robust network performance, including managing TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Provide high-quality support to users, communicating effectively with varying levels of ICT literacy.
- Lead and execute ICT projects, from planning through to implementation.
- Proactively identify and resolve system issues, conducting root cause analyses to minimise future occurrences.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

Education:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field.

Experience:
- Proven experience in systems administration or ICT support.

Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, and on-premises Active Directory.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
- Networking expertise, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewall management.

Soft Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and independent decision-making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and see them through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Customer-focused approach, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse audience.

Project Management: - Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and manage ICT projects.
